INSIGHTS 2016 4In a few short weeks, I get to spend a few days with the best customers in the world at INSIGHTS 2016 in Las Vegas. I am very excited about this year’s event as we are expecting the largest attendance ever.  Our customers will be seeing our newest enhancements to Dayforce HCM while mixing in some fun and educational sessions throughout their time in Vegas.

Another reason to be excited, is that every year I have the opportunity to spend time with some top-notch industry influencers at INSIGHTS.  This year a few of them will even be hosting sessions at our event.  To me, these are can’t miss breakouts that will discuss trends and challenges facing organizations across the globe.

Jason will discuss the evolution of the workplace over the past decade and how it will continue to evolve. Jason will be discussing how a more flexible, more freelance, more collaborative workforce will be dependent upon a virtual-first mentality. I am looking forward to this session as it promises to fast forward into the  future to explore the latest trends and evolving dynamics of the workplace and discover why the future of work is now. HR Happy Hour Podcast hosted by Steve Boese

Steve Boese is the co-chair of Human Resource Executive magazine’s HR Technology Conference, the leading global event for technology devoted to the HR industry, and a technology editor for LRP Publications.  He hosts the “HR Happy Hour Show,” a popular podcast dedicated to opening the lines of communication among HR thought leaders, practitioners and service providers in the global human resource field.  At this session, in front of a LIVE audience, Steve will host Ceridian Chief People Officer, Lisa Sterling, and me to discuss critical issues from engagement and retention, to the role of technology in today’s workforce.  As always, he provides invaluable insight drawing from many years of industry experience. The Total Package: Culture, Rewards, Recognition and Perks by George LaRocque

George LaRocque has done it all in HR.  He has more than 20 years in the field as a Recruiter, Talent Management professional, HR practitioner, HR Technology executive, analyst and consultant. He will draw from this well-rounded career to discuss best practices for building a strong employee culture.  George believes employees and top talent have made it clear they are looking for a compelling and differentiated employee value proposition – one that goes beyond base compensation and benefits. I am personally looking forward to hearing how great companies are advancing their workplace cultures with a balanced focus on rewards, recognition and perks to retain top talent. Talent Development at High Performance Organizations, by Kevin Martin

Kevin now leads the Institute for Corporate Productivity’s  research operations, which includes planning and managing the execution of the company’s research projects, as well as oversight of its research working groups. In this session, he will tackle the challenge of developing high-potential millennial talent.  The discussion will be driven by quantitative and qualitative research to help us understand what distinguishes high-performance organizations in their ability to move talent, and discover four ‘Next Practices’ that will engage and develop these high-performers for years to come.  As someone who is responsible for developing my own team, I am very interested in learning what high-performing organizations are doing to craft career paths and retain their top performers. Building Personal and Professional Clout with HR Technology – A Retention Strategy, by Marc Miller

I have known Marc for several years.  He has been in our industry for more than 30 years, conducting vendor evaluations, speaking at tradeshows, advising vendors, and helping practitioners.  He is the author of Heroic HR: A little book with big ideas where he provides sound advice for practitioners to prove the strategic value of the HR organization. Marc told me that this session will be “fun and interactive”, where attendees will leave with a plan to gain personal and professional clout and influence.  I am really looking forward to see how he ties HR technology into this.
